Recently St Columba’s United Reformed Church in North Shields held a Baptismal Hymn Writing Competition. This followed a successful venture for Advent 2004 when hymns for Advent were asked for.
There were eleven entries from eight competitors which the Judges were very pleased with. They had quite a task choosing winners and finally awarded joint first place to Stuart Armstrong and Andrew Atkinson. The third place went to Angela Storer, who now lives in York, although her family worship with us as she does when she visits.
