West Denton Church is a friendly group of people of all ages and backgrounds who enjoy meeting and sharing life together in a loving and caring community. We believe the Bible and have found in Jesus Christ a real friend - someone who gives peace, purpose and strength for daily living, and a real hope for the life to come.

West Denton Church aims for every member to be a maturing and witnessing Christian. We believe that God wants us to model our lives on Jesus, to love each other and to share His love with our community and our world.

Worship:

Our services are relaxed and friendly. We believe God wants us to enjoy ourselves in His presence and we encourage lively singing of hymns and contemporary songs of praise and worship, with an openness for the Holy Spirit to speak to us. There is life-related teaching from the Bible and opportunity for those in need to receive prayer. We believe God loves us and is both able and willing to help us with any problem or difficulty.

Children and Youth:

Trailblazers is our excellent children's programme which the children join after some initial praise with the whole church.
Youth @wdc is our teenage group that meets on Fridays – one week for relaxed fun and games, and the other to look at life issues from a Christian viewpoint.

Outreach:

Alpha Course - a practical introduction to the Christian faith. We run these for adults and young people several times a year as needed.

Ladies Breakfast - these take place quarterly, when invited speakers tell their story of how Jesus has impacted their lives.

Home Churches
Just as the human body is made up of many cells so our church is made up of small groups that meet midweek. These are vital part of our church life. Here you will:

Make great friends
Pray and worship in a small group setting
Get support from others and be a support
Pray for friends, family and colleagues
Learn to live out the Christian faith day by day.

World Church:

West Denton Church seeks to be a missionary church – we encourage regular prayer and support for world mission, and have links with churches and Christian workers in Romania, Paraguay and Nepal

Church Unity:

West Denton Church has good friendships with other churches in the area

Within the United Reformed Church we are in a joint pastorate with Horsley Village Church and seek to support this church in its mission in a small village setting. We are also in partnership with 8 other churches in the Nine Churches Mission Partnership, working together to grow our churches.
We are part of Westerhope and District Churches Together and share in united activities and services throughout the church year.
We are part of Together in Christ Tyneside, which consists of both evangelical and charismatic churches of all denominations who aim to work together through prayer, unity and evangelism to impact our area with the Gospel.
