International Ministry
It is the hope of the International Relations Office of the United Reformed Church that an international ministerial exchange will be seen as an educational opportunity for both the visiting church professionals and their families. Early consideration should be given to educational and enrichment possibilities for the professional and the family.
A minister in the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan said that all ministers should have teachable souls and it is our hope that ministry exchanges will give the opportunity for both teaching and learning. For this reason, we believe that the use of Education for Ministry 3 (EM3) and Belonging to the World Church (BWC) grants are valid for exchanges, but that decision always remains in the hands of United Reformed Church Synod Training Officers. It is important to note, however, that BWC grants will not be approved without the completion of the exchange covenant and Denominational Authorisation Forms.
There are two easy ways to begin exploring an international ministry exchange. One, go to the International Relations Webpage on the URC Website. There you will find:
• An Introduction to Exchanges
• Registration Form
• Reference Form
• Church Authorisation Form
• Denominational Authorisation Form
• Driving Assessment Form, and
• An Example Exchange Covenant.
