It seems as if the 2008 Synod Spring Retreat was only a couple of weeks ago, but already it is time to be booking up for next year's.
Refurbishment of the house means that we shall be unable to meet as usual at Shepherds Dene. Instead the retreat will take place at Ampleforth Abbey, near York, from Tuesday 3rd to Thursday 5th of February.
The retreat will be led by the Revd Mike Playdon, a retired URC minister and experienced Retreat Leader.
The format will be one of input from the leader, followed by times of quiet. There will also be opportunity to join the monastic daily services if we wish.
As usual, the retreat is open to anyone from our Northern Synod churches. The cost will be £100: for ministers in service, the retreat qualifies for CME grant; assistance is also available for lay people and retired ministers. Please contact David Peel about this.
To book, contact Revd Ruth Crofton, 54 Mount Pleasant, Stanley, Crook, DL15 9SG. All booking forms myst be in before January 5th 2009 - the best time to book really is now!
